The Otterbox Defender for the IPhone is a great buy and a grat product. Once you get use to removing the skin to clean the glass it is a perfect defender of your precious phone. I have dropped my IPhone a couple of times (once in the rain) and it came through it with flying colors. A must have if the IPhone is important to you.

This is a good product and i will recommend to all of my friends. In fact i would consider it for my other phone (Nokia). The only issues are -
1 The water mark or the oil strain mark caused by the plastic and iphone glass contact.
Otter box should include one matte screen protector that can be put in between the
iphone glass and case's plastic cover.
2 Dangerously loose holster grip on the set, i am working on a way around and
if that works i will share with all.

If you need big time protection for your phone, then get this case, the Otterbox Defender. However I warn you it increases the size of your phone a good bit and it's pretty ugly. I'm sending it back.
In it's place I ordered and LOVE the Marware Sportshell Convertible. It's a 3 in 1 case system.
1. It's got a nice fitting, hard, slightly rubberized case that looks like it will protect it well.
2. It comes with a belt clip
3. It comes with a sport armband for jogging/exercise
To me the Otterbox is just overkill.

I have had my Otterbox Defender case for several months. I have the mirror LCD screen protector installed on my iPhone and I have absolutely no bubbles or oily sheen from the plastic membrane of the Defender case. A good LCD screen protector WILL prevent the problem that some people are having. Also, even though the Defender supplies a belt clip for the iPhone, the clip is the weak link in the system. I didn't buy the Defender for the belt clip though. If you want to solve THAT problem, then go to Staples or WalMart and find a small digital camera case that zips. I got one at a local Staples store( made by "Logic"), and it even has a little 2nd zippered compartment accessible from the outside, (in which you can place a USB cord for plugging your iPhone into a PC to charge it or plug it into a power plug that accepts a USB input to charge it using a conventional wall outlet). Anyway, the particular camera case, (just a fabric case a little larger than the iPhone with the Defender case), I bought, has a metal clip and a standard fabric belt clip. I loop it through my belt and then use the metal clip to hook it onto one of my belt loops on my jeans, pants, etc. Double security. Also it is fast and easy to unzip the camera case to pull out the iPhone encased in the Defender case). It is an excellent and unbeatable combination. So to summarize: Get the Otterbox Defender case, get a good LCD screen protector, get a small camera case, (just be sure to check the size of it, to make sure it will accommodate your iPhone encased in the Defender case - bring it with you when you go looking for a small digital camera case). Install the LCD screen protector correctly, then encase the iPhone in the Defender case. Pop the iPhone into your camera case, (which, of course, is now your iPhone carrying case), mount it to your pants, jeans, etc. and you have the perfect combination to protect and enjoy your expensive iPhone investment.

I had the Otter case for BlackBerry and thought it was terrific so I thought I had to have the one for my new I Phone. Well, after 3 weeks of having it, I am so sorry I purchased it. Maybe the case is great but the holster is the worst. It NEEDS TO BE CONSTANTLY CHECKED TO MAKE SURE IT IS SITTING PROPERLY IN THE HOLSTER AND IF YOU MOVE THE WRONG WAY OR BEND, WELL, YOU MAY NOT HAVE IT WHEN YOU RETURN TO YOUR ORIGINAL POSITION. It falls out nad I am certain it is inevitable that if I continue to use it, at some point it will fall onto grass or carpet and I won't be aware until it is too late. I do not recommend it because of this major flaw.
